I love Salisbury steak, but for a long time didn't eat it because some of the ingredients were heartburn triggers for me. With the following recipe, however, I can once again enjoy this dish. With the low fat ingredients, it's heartburn-friendly while still being tasty.

Ingredients:
- 1 pound extra-lean ground beef (at least 90% lean)
- 1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs
- 2 teaspoons beef-flavored granules, divided
- Dash of salt
- Nonstick vegetable cooking spray
- 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup mushrooms
- 1 1/3 cups water
- 4 teaspoons cornstarch
- 4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 8 oz fettuccini noodles, cooked without salt or fat, prepared according to package directions
Preparation:
- Combine ground beef, bread crumbs, 1 teaspoon beef granules, and salt in a bowl.
- Mix well and then form into 4 patties.
- Spray a skillet with nonstick vegetable cooking spray, and place over medium-high heat.
- Add beef patties, and cook 4 to 6 minutes on each side, or until done.
- Remove patties from pan and set aside.
- Add vegetable oil and mushrooms to skillet, and cook 3 to 5 minutes until just tender.
- Combine water, remaining beef granules, cornstarch and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl. Mix well and add to skillet.
- Cook 2 to 3 minutes or until thickened.
- Pour mushroom sauce over cooked beef patties, and serve with warm fettuccini noodles.
