Sour Cream Pound Cake

This simple pound cake is a heartburn-friendly version of an old favorite, retaining the favor and texture but with less sugar, eggs, and butter.

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 egg whites, lightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups fat-free sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Preparation:
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Spray a 10-inch bundt pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Blend together flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl, mixing thoroughly. Set aside.
  • Cream together butter and sugar in a large bowl.
  • Add egg whites and beat thoroughly.
  • Stir in sour cream and vanilla.
  • Add the flour mixture, mixing thoroughly.
  • Pour batter into the prepared bundt pan.
  • Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inseted into the center comes out clean.
  • Cool for 10 minutes before removing the cake from the pan.
  • Sprinkly with powdered sugar before serving.
