What Symptoms Prompted You to Go to Your Doctor?
No symptoms at all for Barrett's.My PC MD had sent me
to a gastro for more/different help with IBS that I have
had approximately 6yrs...D & C combo. I had a lower scope
OK. Then an upper which clearly showed the Barrett's the
entire length of my esophagus.Never knew I had anything
so serious! The GI MD asked if I suffered from heart burn.
Since I was 12-13 yrs old! The GERD was unbearable at times. Through 2 pregnancies,I ate Rolaids constantly.If
Barrett's is caused by heart burn,GERD etc-why wasn't I
tested for Barrett's 30yrs ago? This possibly fatal condition-
should have been treated years ago
Living with Barrett's Esophagus
I live very 'normally' with Barrett's. At my DR appts
he always asks if I have any problems swallowing or
sensation of choking...no & no. There are days when I
look at my 10wk old grandson-the youngest in the group
and I do wonder will I live to see his 1st day of kindergarten?
My 10 yr old granddaughter's reach the day that they
will wear a bit of lip gloss? I don't know the answers
and neither do the best of DRs. A close neighbor passed
2 yrs ago due to this hideous ailment-he chose to be at
home-my God,he suffered so.
