Question: What Are the Side Effects of Dexilant?
Answer:

There is a possibility of side effects when taking Dexilant (Kapidex), though in many cases, the side effects are minor and will either disappear within a few days or are easily treated. Unfortunately, there are patients who will have side effects that persist or are severe. If you are unsure whether your symptoms are a result of taking this medication, it is important to talk to your doctor.

Possible side effects of Dexilant are:

  • Diarrhea
  • Gas
  • Stomach pains
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting

The following symptoms are more serious. If you experience any of these, you should call your doctor immediately.

  • Difficulty breathing
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Skin rash
  • Hives
  • Itching

There may be other side effects not listed here, so you should always contact your doctor if you have any unusual or concerning symptoms while taking this medication.
