No Tomato Sauce Ham Pizza

If you enjoy pizza but don't like the heartburn that sometimes follows, try this heartburn-friendly version. If fatty foods or tomato-based products trigger your heartburn, the lean ham, low-fat cheese and no tomato sauce make this pizza recipe safe for most heartburn sufferers.

Total Time: 17 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 small pkg (ready-to-bake) pizza crusts (5.5 oz each)
  • 4 Tbsp pesto sauce
  • 1 cup diced lean ham (can substitute sliced lean canadian bacon)
  • 1 cup grated low-fat cheese (e.g. mozzarella, cheddar, colby-jack)

Preparation:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
  • Place pizza crusts on a cookie sheet
  • Spread pesto sauce evenly over the crusts
  • Spread ham evenly over the crusts
  • Sprinkle the grated cheese evenly over the ham
  • Bake for 8 to 12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the crust is lightly browned
  • Slice pizzas and serve
