Definition: This is a persistent feeling of a lump in the throat. It can feel like phlegm or some other sort of obstruction is in the throat. But you can swallow normally, so there is no true obstruction. This sensation may be related to stress, or be a complication of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
