Do You Have a Similar Experience? — Late Night Eating

Some time ago I asked for your experiences about what is the most annoying about having GERD. One writer said:

"The most difficult part of living with GERD for me is the lifestyle in the place where I live (South America). We eat around ten at night! I can work around that when at home, but dinner invitations are a problem. On top of it, strong coffee, red wine, and pop are the drinks offered when out socially. All stuff I like, but no good for my stomach."

Do customs, family situation, work, or some other situation force you to eat late at night sometimes? If so, you may be able to relate to Helena's situation. If you suffered from heartburn because of this late night eating, how have you dealt with it? Besides medications, what other ways have you used to beat the burn? I am always hungry about 10.00pm even though I have a good dinner at 6.30pm and can’t go to sleep if I’m hungry – is this just a habit?
