I quit taking a PPI when I read that it interferes with bone mass. As a perimenopausal woman, that’s the last thing I need. And I increased my intake of vit D again since I read a new article in my Consumer Reports on Health. I use generic over the counter Pepcid(I cut the higher dose in half-it’s cheaper), chewable Rolaids, I cut intake of foods and beverages that aggravate me and I take certain meds(like enteric coated aspirin) with food. I take my PPI once, sometimes twice, a week. My goal is to eliminate that and every RX med. Too many risks for the benefit. We won’t take a med that hasn’t been out for at least 10 years.
