Heartburn-Free School Lunches

Monday August 25, 2008
Starting a new school year is an adjustment for everyone. Children exchange summer clothes for school clothes and books. Adults adjust to again the kids being away for hours each day. For parents of children with a medical condition, there may be even more adjustments to make. This includes children who suffer from chronic acid reflux.

School lunches prepared by a school can often be higher in fat, which can be a heartburn trigger for those children and teens who suffer from chronic heartburn or GERD. The best option, therefore, may be for kids to take home prepared lunches to school.

Heartburn-free school lunches are easy to plan and prepare.
