Points to remember:
If you have an concerns about the medication you are on, whether it is working properly or effectively, or additional symptoms occur, you should discuss this with your doctor. This applies to both GERD and other medical conditions. Also, what we may take for the treatment of other medical conditions may affect the severity of GERD or ulcer symptoms. Your doctor may be able to prescribe an alternative treatment for other conditions, such as arthritis, in order to avoid complications or increased symptoms.

I hope you can get some help. you would think with all the people in the world who have this problem there would be more research to find a cure cause the nexium aint working no more
I am sorry for the difficulty you’ve been having. I had moderate problems with GERD and took Protonix and other PPIs off and on for many years. I have other conditions and use the services of a naturopathic physician who has been very helpful. Knowing that the PPIs were messing up my system, interfering with nutrient absorption, I decided about a year ago to dramatically change things. I suggest you read a books such as “Natural Alternatives to Nexium, Maalox, Tagamet, Prilosec & Other Acid Blockers: What to Use to Relieve Acid Reflux, Heartburn, and Gastric Ailments” by Marty Whittiken. I now NEVER use PPIs and do not have little to no GERD unless I eat a trigger food, or too much rich stuff. PPIs are awful awful drugs that just perpetuate problems. Incidentally, I have no connection with the author of this book or any industry that sees to profit from alternative methods.
