Valentine's Day and Heartburn

That burning in your chest on Valentine's Day may not be caused by your feelings for your significant other. It may be heartburn.

Valentine's Day is synonymous with chocolate, but chocolate is a noted trigger food for many heartburn sufferers. While it may be expected to give and receive chocolate on this special day, moderation is suggested.

There are other tips you can follow to help you avoid heartburn and enjoy Valentine's Day with your loved one.

Eating Out
You can eat out without fear of heartburn if you know what to ask for and what you should avoid. When you ask how the food is prepared, avoid certain beverages, and watch portion sizes, you can prevent the heartburn.

Cooking at Home
Anyone suffering from heartburn needs have a special acid reflux diet. You need to know what foods are safe, and avoid the foods that can trigger your heartburn. You need to know how to prepare your foods to avoid heartburn-triggering ingredients.
