Foods that can worsen heartburn

One way to lessen heartburn episodes is to change your diet. There are certain foods that can worsen heartburn symptoms, and it's best for chronic heartburn sufferers to limit or completely avoid these foods and beverages. So, what are the most problematic foods for heartburn sufferers?

Foods and beverages you should avoid if you suffer from acid reflux:
  • Fried foods
  • Fatty foods
  • Citrus fruits
  • Tomato products
  • Coffee
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Citrus fruit drinks
  • Chocolate
  • Peppermint
  • Pepper
