Forum Post of the Week: "Prilosec to go OTC: Is this good or bad?"
Wednesday October 1, 2003
F.W. states:
"You know what I find so strange? When a person could only get the 20 mg dose of Prilosec as prescription, it was over $100 for a month's supply. Now, the same dose available over-the-counter is less than $20 a month at a national retail store near me. No wonder some insurance companies don't want to continue paying for the prescription. I feel for the people, like you, who will have to pay more for the OTC version, but looking at it from a logical, business-minded side of things, I can see the reasoning of the insurance companies."
