Forum Post of the Week: "2 yrs, of meds; no relief"
Friday September 12, 2003
This is from Karen, concerning her sister:
"She has a history of GERD and has had 3 endoscopes that show acute inflamation in her stomach and esophogus. She takes Prilosec and Carafate and still can't find relief. The burning is relentless for her. Her question is: Can grieving and intense anxiety override the medications?? Her son was killed at work 1 1/2 yrs. ago and she is working through other issues in therapy. Her diet consists of chicken, peanut butter, white rice, graham crackers and some oyster crackers when she burns inbetween meals. Any thoughts would be appreciated."
